I was fortunate to take photographs of a cherry blossom event called "Sakura Kai" conducted by Seattle's Japanese social media, The event started off by Associate professor, Paul Atkins of University of Washington speaking about how cherry blossoms are closely connected with Japanese culture for many years. Followed by a calligrapher Ms. Shizu Usami displaying many different ways of writing "sakura" (cherry blossom) in calligraphy. Last but not least, Ms. Akemi Sagawa and Ms. Ko Shimizu of East-West Chanoyu Center demonstrated Japanese tea ceremony.

It was a full bloom of cherry blossom and was a wonderful event. According to the founder of and an organizer of this event, Ms. Takumi Ohno, they will plan to repeat this event next year. I am already looking forward to it!

Thank you so much for stopping by and read my blog. I will keep it coming!
